Presentation of the Analysis of the Situation in Higher Education, Production and Processing of Food Products Related to Quality and Security Issues in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

On July 5, 2017, the Round table on presentation of the Analysis of the Situation in Higher Education, Production and Processing of Food Products Related to Quality and Security Issues in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held in Dushanbe.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretariat of the Consultative Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification and the Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, representative offices of international and local consulting companies, interested universities, private food processing companies participated in the round table.

The main issues for discussion of participants were aspects of close interaction between universities and employers, gradual transition to training specialists according to the requirements of employers.

According to the Agenda, Umed Aslanov, representative of the Hilfswerk Austria International in Tajikistan presented the results and outcomes of the extended assessment of economic and educational environment and focused the attention of the participants on important issues to be considered by the all parts of the PPD, namely Government, Private sector and Universities.  

Mirasil Mirzoev, representative of the Tajik Agrarian University presented the modules to be integrated into the curriculum, in the frame of the HECAFS project.
Matluba Uljabaeva, head of NASMB, underlined on necessity of establishing PPD platforms on collaboration on raised issues. Modern trends of development presuppose integration between science and business based on research and entrepreneurial platforms as a means for exchanging experience between universities and food industry enterprises, research institutes and representatives of related industries. In general, the purpose of these platforms is to bridge the gap between science and business.

Open discussion allowed all participants to come to the opinion on the importance of continuing the dialogue within the existing PPD platforms at ministries and departments.
