The national seminar in Osh (Republic of Kyrgyzstan)

On April 6, 2017 the national seminar for universities, the appropriate public authorities and institutions, managers of food safety and food – processing enterprises has been held in the TES training center – groups, in Osh, the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main objective of the seminar was the provision the concept of the HECAFS project and the main results of the extended assessment of the economic situation and the educational environment which is earlier carried out in the framework of the project, in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Participants of the training have noted the importance of implementation and application of international systems and food safety standards in production and processing of food products, that as a result will lead to increase the competitiveness of Kyrgyz products in global markets.

In particular, participants have noted that the Kyrgyz Republic at the beginning of 2016 received from the European Union GSP + status, allowing the Kyrgyz producers to export to Europe at a zero tariff rates of about 6 thousand commodity items. This privilege from the EU to the Kyrgyz producers will increase export potential of the republic only in the case of applying internationally accepted food safety standards.
